How To Prepare For Your Wax

What should I do to prepare for a wax?

Avoid taking a hot shower or applying moisturizers’ at least 12 hours prior to your wax as this can cause the hair to break.

To take the edge off the pain, take a couple of nurofen plus an hour prior to your wax and avoid caffeinated drinks and alcohol.

After care for waxing:

Refrain from having a sauna, swimming in a pool or having a soak in the Spa for at least 12/24 hours after your wax as your pores are still open and can cause infection and ingrown hairs.
The same goes for a full on exercise session at the gym. If you need to take a shower don’t use any soaps or shower gels for at least a couple of days.

How do I avoid Ingrown hairs?

Unfortunately some people are more prone to ingrown hairs than others. Exfoliate the skin regularly to try to prevent ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs sometimes occur due to too much dead skin debris that blocks the hair follicle opening, causing the hair to grow sideways.

There are many products on the market to help draw out ingrown hair but what works for one may not work for another so it’s a matter of just trying to see what works for you. The best products to use are those with natural healing and antibacterial properties.
